Day 3 – Sharing Expertise

Matt, Matt & Mark in Action!

Another beautiful sunny day provided an excellent opportunity for Matt H, Angela, Mark, Robbie, Tom & Matt T to get more done on the allotment.

Local resident and allotment holder, Jack was on hand to provide some expertise and gardening tips – it’s great to gather a wealth of experience and expertise

Tip of the Week – Jack advises Robbie to work right up to the fence to make the most of the land  as you only need one walk way down one of the sides.

Matt T, Angela, Matt H & Mark. Happy with a good day's work! Tom & Robbie helped too

Day Two – Tidy Up!

'After' our First Dig & Tidy

On Wednesday 16th March, Tom, Matt & Kati spent an hour tidying up the plot and taking out the rotten swedes, leaks and getting rid of the grass. They turned the soil and started the prep before planting can begin.

Local resident and fellow allotment holder, Jack, kindly donated a pitch fork and spade to us to use on our allotment. Thanks Jack!

Day One – Our Plot!

Before

This is how our allotment looks before we start any work. It needs a bit of a tidy up and some preparation before we can start planting. We also get to use the greenhouse for seedlings! So we’re good to go!

Easter comes early!

Vassil, Chair of Cork Road Community Allotment gives Tom half a dozen eggs from the chickens on his plot. Tom says “Thanks for providing the eggs for a scrummy omelette for tea, hats off to the Chef!”
